2. What personal data we collect
We collect personal data only when you voluntarily provide it through the booking request form or by contacting us directly. The data we may collect includes:
- Your name — to address your booking request
- Phone number or WhatsApp contact — to confirm your appointment
- Email address — if you choose to provide it, for booking confirmation or newsletter
- Preferred appointment date and time — to schedule your visit
- Number of guests — to prepare appropriately

- Health notes or special requests — only if you voluntarily share these in the notes field, to ensure a safe and appropriate treatment
- Newsletter email — only if you sign up for updates
Health information — special category data
Under Sint Maarten's National Ordinance, health data is a special category of personal data subject to stricter protection. If you choose to share health notes (e.g. recent surgery, allergies, medical conditions) in your booking request, this is done at your own initiative and with your explicit consent, solely to ensure your treatment is safe and appropriate. This information is handled with the highest level of confidentiality and is not shared with any third party.
3. Legal basis for processing
Under the Sint Maarten National Ordinance (Article 8) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR (Article 6), we process your personal data on the following grounds:
- Your consent — when you submit the booking form, sign up for the newsletter, or contact us directly, you provide voluntary, informed consent for us to use your details to respond to your request.
- Performance of a contract — your booking details are necessary to arrange and confirm your appointment.
- Legitimate interest — responding to your direct enquiries.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at info@zenology.sx.
4. How we use your data
Your personal data is used only for the following purposes:
- To confirm and arrange your appointment
- To communicate with you about your booking by WhatsApp, phone or email
- To send you the newsletter, if you signed up
- To improve the overall client experience
We do not use your data for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising.
5. How we share your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.
Your booking request is transmitted via WhatsApp (operated by Meta Platforms Inc.) when you click "Send Request on WhatsApp." WhatsApp's own privacy policy and terms apply to that transmission. We recommend reviewing WhatsApp's privacy policy at whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy.
If you book via Calendly, Calendly's own privacy policy applies. We recommend reviewing it at calendly.com/privacy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking tools on this website.
6. How long we keep your data
Under Sint Maarten's National Ordinance, personal data must not be kept longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
- Booking requests: Retained only for as long as needed to manage your appointment and any follow-up.
- Newsletter subscribers: Retained until you unsubscribe.
- Health notes: Not stored beyond the appointment. These are used only in real time to prepare for your treatment.
7. Your rights
Under Sint Maarten's National Ordinance and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right to access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your personal data
- Right to object — you can object to how we use your data
- Right to restriction — you can ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability (GDPR, for EU residents) — you can ask us to provide your data in a portable format
- Right to withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting any processing done before withdrawal
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@zenology.sx or by WhatsApp at +1 721 556 9752. We will respond within one month.
8. Data security
We take the security of your personal data seriously. This website does not store any of your booking details on a server — all booking requests are sent directly to Tessa via WhatsApp. No payment details are collected or stored through this website.
We use HTTPS to ensure encrypted transmission of data between your browser and this website.
9. Children's data
This website is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us immediately at info@zenology.sx so we can delete it.
10. International visitors and the GDPR
Although Hands of Gold is based in Sint Maarten (which is not an EU member state), we welcome visitors from the European Union and from Saint Martin (the French side of the island, which is an EU Overseas Collectivity). Saint Martin operates under French and EU data protection law, including the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés).
Sint Maarten's Bureau Telecommunications & Post (BTP) has advised all businesses on the island to follow GDPR principles when collecting or processing personal data of EU residents. As required by the GDPR's extra-territorial scope (Article 3), we apply GDPR-equivalent protections to all visitors, regardless of where they are based.
If you are an EU resident and believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — for example:
- France: CNIL — Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés
- Netherlands: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens
11. Complaints
Under Sint Maarten's National Ordinance, the Personal Data Protection Supervisory Committee is the local supervisory authority. You may also address complaints to the Court of First Instance of Sint Maarten if you believe the responsible party has failed to honour your data subject rights (Article 37, National Ordinance).
We always prefer to resolve any concern directly. Please contact us first at info@zenology.sx.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if the law changes or if we introduce new services. The date of the most recent update appears at the bottom of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
